What is Social Axe Throwing?

Social Axe Throwing is an indoor axe-throwing venue. We host parties of all types, corporate team building events, leagues, and walk-in customers. It is Social, Competitive, and Fun!

Do you take reservations or do I just visit one of your locations?

We highly recommend reserving your event. If you have 6 or more people, please reserve our 2 hour Main Event package for the best experience.

If you have 1-5 people, reserve our 1 hour slots on our location page. We do have walk in lanes available but they are first come first serve.

What is a Main Event?

A Main Event is a social event we created around axe throwing. It is a 2 hour gathering of 6+ people at one of our locations where a coach will teach the group to be safe, throw axes, and entertain them with a series of games. You cannot bring in beverages.

We host your group through an immersive axe throwing event! Where your party will go through safety, training, split into teams and then our coaches will lead them through a series of games and a bracket style tournament to find the best thrower!

We can host large groups up to 75+ depending on which store your interested in visiting.

I have a Main Event booked, how early should I arrive to prepare for the event?

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled event time to handle all pre-event procedures and guarantee an on-time start. It is important that we start all our events at their scheduled time. If you are late we cannot add time to the end of your event.

Can I walk-in and rent a lane?

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled event time to handle all pre-event procedures and guarantee an on-time start. It is important that we start all our events at their scheduled time. If you are late we cannot add time to the end of your event.

We DO NOT RESERVE walk-in lanes.

Walk-ins are first-come, first-serve. You are welcome to wait in our lounge for the next available lane. If you choose to leave and come back you will lose your spot on the waiting list.

Walk in lanes are very busy on Friday and Saturday, we highly recommend booking your 1 or 2 hour event before hand. But we do have a great lounge space at all locations with free arcade games and pool tables to play while you wait!

How do I “Social Axe Throw”?

Social Axe Throwing is the competitive entertainment and sport of throwing axes at a target! Think darts on steroids, and we have trained coaches on hand to teach you everything you need to know! We will have you taught up, feeling safe, and hitting bullseyes in no time!

Is axe throwing safe?

Safety is our biggest concern, we will teach you the way to do it safely but we need your help.
Please listen to your coaches and don’t goof around, and remember it is AXE THROWING, not Nerf wars!
Please don’t come in if you have been drinking! We do sell alcoholic beverages at our venue and are happy to serve you if you are 21 and over. But we will not serve you if it seems you have been drinking before you arrival.

Can I bring small children with me?

No, please do not bring your small children with you. We are an all ages venue and you don’t have to be 21 to visit, but that being we are a better fit for teens, young adults, and adults. Our venues are not a good fit to have children running around. So call the babysitter and come have a blast with us!

Can I bring my kids?

Only if they are of throwing age “13 years old”and ability. We request that you leave all children at home who are not of throwing age.

What do I need to bring or wear?

We require you to wear CLOSED-TOE SHOES!

Flannel is optional but always produces a smile from our staff! We recommend you wear comfortable clothing, a shirt that allows your arms a full range of motion will help a ton!

Oh, and a kick-axe attitude.

Can I bring my own axe or tomahawk?

We don’t allow you to bring your own axe or tomahawk, unless you are participating in one of our leagues.

How do I book an event or party?

  1. From the home page select the location you wish to visit and you will be taken to a calendar.
  2. Select the date you wish to throw.
  3. Pick from the available event times that fit the number of people you have attending.
  4. Fill out the form and pay the reservation fee.
  5. You will receive a confirmation email with the time and date of your event.

If you are looking for a time outside our normal business hours please email us at: info@socialaxethrowing.com and we will try to accommodate your request.

Do I need to book in advance?

No, but we strongly recommend it if you are bringing more than 5 people for a walk-in lane

You are required to book in advance for a Main Event, this guarantees you the event time that you would like and allows us to make sure one of our qualified coaches is available for you.

To complete the booking process you must pay the $60 non-refundable deposit.

How do I pay?

We collect payment at the end of the event. We will open a tab at the beginning of your party. This way you can add any drinks food or extra time for axe throwing on this tab. Then at the end we will collect a payment. Our venues and experience is a service business and runs very similar to a restaruant, bar, and dining place. Our staff will coach you on throwing axes, host your party, serve you drinks, and delicous food. So tips are not expected but greatly appreciated.

Do you have food and drinks for sale?

We have soft drinks and other non alcoholic beverages at all locations.

We have a large and great selection of craft beers, and seltzers avaialable at all of our locations.

Our Ogden,UT and Gibert, AZ locations have a great pizzeria located onsite and available for purchase with every visit.

Our SLC,UT location has small snacks and concessions available, but we also have a catering deal with Bad Caddy Pizza who will cater and deliver pizza for our 2 hour Main Event parties anytime!

Can I bring food and/or drinks?

No outside drink is allowed. We DO NOT allow any outside food to be brought into our Ogden,UT and GIlbert,AZ locations, they have a full kitchen available.

Our SLC, UT location you can bring outside food in but we highly recommend for convenience and delicious pizza, order through our catering partner Bad Caddy Pizza.

We have a selection of beer, seltzers, waters, soda, chips, and candy for purchase at all locations.

Can I bring alcohol?

No, we have beer for purchase. No it is state law in Utah and Arizona, because we have license to sell alcoholic beverages that we can not allow any outside beverages, especially alcohol.

How old do you have to be to throw?

This is a tough question and one we get all the time. We set our age limit to 13 yrs and older. Here is why: our axes are heavy, we have found that there are some 12 year olds who can handle throwing for 2 hours but most can’t, so 13 became our age break.

We are sorry, but we are not interested in hosting your 10 year old drop-and-go birthday party. This is an axe-throwing venue and we need adults present to supervise young children.

Does someone teach me to throw?

Yes, one of our coaches will show you how to be safe and throw successfully.

What is the minimum group size?

For a Main Event the minimum is 6 and they must be booked in advance.

For our 1 hour lane rental you can come by yourself. If you have more than 5 people planning on coming we recommend that you book a Main Event.

What is the maximum group size?

This is location dependent:

  • Ogden, UT location can handle 85 people maximum.
  • Salt Lake City, UT location can handle 120 people maximum.
  • Gilbert, AZ location can handle 85 people maximum.

Do you host corporate events?

Absolutely! We can create a custom team building experience like you have never experienced.

Please contact us at info@socialaxethrowing.com to customize the event to meet your needs.

What is your cancellation policy?
